Mister Jiu’s : Restaurant chinois étoilé à San Francisco

Fondé en 2016 par le chef Brandon Jew, Mister Jiu’s est rapidement devenu une référence dans le paysage culinaire de San Francisco. Since earning that Michelin star in 2017, Jew has opened a chain of fast-casual restaurants and mentored a small army of chefs who have gone on to open other businesses, including Four Kings. He’s also pivoted to a tasting menu, lending Mister Jiu’s a more formal air, men on cellphones notwithstanding. But you can still order à la carte — and walk in — at the bar. It’s my favorite part of the restaurant, where you’ll find a convivial, lively atmosphere of diners ripping apart scallion milk buns and licking honey butter off their fingers between sips of jujubee negroni."

The contemporary Cantonese restaurant offers a $75 tasting menu with items such as chicken, shrimp and pig trotter dumplings with preserved yuzu and black truffle, as well as fresh tuna with beets, blood orange and lanzhou chili, along with the famous “Peking style” whole duck, which is smoked with tea leaves.
