Start at the Audubon Center for a preview of the birds you might expect to see, then hit the jogging- and stroller-friendly trails and head up the hill. About four miles up you’ll find great views of the city and a small gem of a lake. It’s a perfect spot for a picnic or turtle and duck watching. The roughly seven-mile loop takes about three hours. Afterward head on up to Highland Park’s Figueroa Avenue, just a few minutes from the park by car, to refresh and refuel with a brunch or beer."
