"“Piccolo Bistrot Gourmet” What a finding & hidden gem! While on our road back home with Mom in Dec-25 (Nice then a short Italian hop), I discovered Bordighera’s old town (much more interesting than its seaside) — there is large parking lot just at the entrance, quite a lot of space at this moment of the year, probably more complicated during high season — went walking for 10min in town and found this cute tiny restaurant, asked for a table immediately while it was only 6:30pm. We had an early dinner with Mom, a wonderful welcome & discussion by the lovely couple of owners — he is Neapolitan — chatted in Italian & French, said Mom will be living till 125yo. Very traditional decor, a bit tight, authentic & warm — be ready to chat with the owners & potentially other tables. Everything is cooked in the oven, the lasagna was out of this world (no béchamel, only grilled mozzarella!). Very affordable prices. We were lucky, normally better book in advance — some clients traveled especially from Milano. Don’t expect anything fancy, but this is your unforgettable place for real authenticity."
