"FAUT FAIRE LE TUNNEL LE POINT DE VUE EST INCR Only roughly 2 hours from Tokyo, this beautiful tunnel is situated over one of the three Great Gorges of Japan and was renovated as an art installation before being opened permanently. With four gorgeous lookout points with unique designs, the tunnel runs for just under a kilometre through the cliffs and takes about 60 mins to the end and back. Opening times: 08:30am - 4:30pm HOW TO GET THERE FROM TOKYO: Catch the bullet train from Tokyo Station to Echigo-Yuzawa Station, then hop on the local Morimiyanohara Express bus that leads you 30 mins away to Kiyotsukyo-Iriguchi Bus Stop. The gorge is a 30 min walk through the beautiful surrounding area. Our main tip: grab a map from the Yuzawa tourism office located in the train station and ask them for the bus timetable too! The workers here are super helpful and will make sure you have all the info so you don't get lost We visited this spot between Autumn and Winter seasons, so the viewpoints were not as busy - but don't be fooled by the lack of crowds! This spot can get extremely crowded, so our tip is to go in between seasons to avoid this (the tunnel is open all year)"
