"Belongs to Quentin Tarantino Opened in 1923; Egypt themed; single screen"

"Cinéma historique. Façade hispano-baroque."

"Originally called the Lou Bard Playhouse, the Vista opened in 1923 and was designed by prolific theater architect Lewis A. Smith. The charmingly incongruous building features a Spanish Revival-style exterior and an Ancient Egypt-themed interior (the Los Angeles Conservancy notes that the 1922 discovery of King Tut’s tomb might have inspired a few last minute design changes). With only one screen, the Vista's primary appeals are its historic aesthetic, comparatively low prices, and 35 mm film projector."

"Racheté par Tarantino en 2021"

"Though the Egyptian-inspired theater has appeared in other films like Throw Momma From the Train (1987), The Big Picture (1989), and Get Shorty (1995), it will forever be the place where Clarence met Alabama. Though the lobby of the Rialto was utilized in the Stab sneak preview scene, the auditorium where the actual screening took place is located a good twelve miles west. The spot where Maureen (Jada Pinkett Smith) met her rather public untimely end is the Vista Theatre in Los Feliz."

"une seule salle, ne projette que des films argentiques. Appartient à Tarantino"

"Located on Sunset Drive, this single-screen theater opened in 1923 is one of the remaining buildings from Hollywood’s construction in the 20s. Out front, the theater’s sidewalk displays hand and footprints from independent and cult film icons. The theater was also featured in the film, True Romance where Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette’s characters first meet. While having mostly screen pornographic films, the theater has recently been renovated to show newly released films. While the exterior and lobby of Scream 2’s opening scene were filmed at South Pasadena’s now-shuttered Rialto Theatre, Jada Pinkett Smith’s Maureen Evans met her untimely end inside the Vista’s expansive Egyptian-themed auditorium. In a nod to this history, the theater hosted a revival screening of the first Scream in 2016. https://giggster.com/blog/famous-los-angeles-filming-locations/"
