"Chef Michael Nelson is hyper-focused on sustainability, commissioning local spear fishermen and using bycatch and invasive fish to create a groundbreaking menu. A leading proponent for Gulf-to-plate dining and using the entire fish in innovative ways, the GW Fins chef dry ages cuts of local tuna and swordfish — the result is dense, umami-rich fish with meaty heft. His delicious tempura fin wings are just one example of how this kitchen walks the walk."

"A bit more upscale old school famous seafood restaurant in New Orleans. Overall great quality but nothing spectacular (though I really liked the warm biscuits they give you). I prefer Pesces. "

"Went here on a Friday night in May 2021. Service was really good. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and everything was so good!! We had the bbq shrimp, tempura Finn wings, crispy pork belly with watermelon and the fried soft shell crab. My favorite was the tempura Finn wings but everything was really amazing. The bbq shrimp was in an amazing sauce. They came around with biscuits too. Jason loved the biscuits, he said it was the best he’d had in his life. For the main course Jason got the blackened snapper, which was perfectly seasoned. The waiter was very accommodating and blackened the American red snapper when Jason could not choose between that and the other blackened snapper. I had the seabass in an Asian sauce. It was okay, after eating seabass at river cafe a few weeks ago I don’t think any seabass could top that. Jason’s dish was much better than mine. Overall I think this may be one of my favorite restaurants of all time. "
