It is one of the easy-to-do day trips from Munich that you can enjoy. once you arrive in Regensburg, make your way to the Old Town – this is where the most famous sights are located. You can easily see Regensburg in one day, as the historic centre is quite compact and easily walkable. make sure to check out the Old Stone Bridge – the emblem of the city, St. Peter’s Cathedral, the Old Town Hall, as well as the medieval village of Stadtamhof, located just on the other side of the Bridge. even though the city is so old, it is also very modern and full of life. Here you will find an abundance of bars – the nightlife is buzzing, and it would be hard to get bored. Regensburg is full of students – local and foreign, which actively contributes to the youthful scene. May it be a walk around the Roman ruins, a boat trip along the Danube or going for a drink in one of the many pubs – you certainly won’t run out of things to do in Regensburg. "

"Il centro storico di Ratisbona è tutelato dall'Unesco e sorge sul Danubio. Nel 179 venne fondata da Marco Aurelio sotto il nome di "castra regina", nel Medioevo fu uno dei centri più popolosi d'Europa e alla fine del XVI secolo il Rathaus della città fu scelto come sede della dieta Imperiale e dal 600 ospitò la dieta permanente, per questa ragione proprio Ratisbona si consumó alla dissoluzione dell'impero per mano di Napoleone, dopo la quale la città divenne parte del neonato regno di Baviera. Uscita indenne dalla seconda guerra mondiale Ratisbona è stata scelta per ragioni storiche e simboliche logistiche come sede del museo della storia bavarese."

The town’s .25-mile stone bridge over the Danube, constructed between 1135 and 1146, is a masterpiece of medieval engineering. The bridge opened up commerce with Northern Europe and Venice and made the town quite wealthy. Regensburg became famous for goldwork and fabrics. The rich competed with each other to build the most lavish houses with the highest possible towers. Make your way to Haidplatz, where jousting tournaments once took place, and examine the Golden Cross house. Another structure to see is the colorful Goliath House. Visit the Regensburg Museum of History in a former Minorite monastery for an overview of the city’s history. Pro Tip: You are near one of Europe’s most beautiful rivers, the Danube.
