"Two restaurants on site, spa, rec center, multiple places to sit and read or play games. Basement has a game room. Hiking trails and golf course near by. Town is adorable with a few restaurants and shopping. "

"Grand, but not fussy. Of another era, but far from old-fashioned. The Woodstock Inn & Resort is the Goldilocks property that’s managed to evolve with the times while maintaining its quintessential New England charm. Situated across from the town green, the Federal-style mansion feels like a Norman Rockwell reverie. Inside, the cozy lobby serves as a communal living room where guests read newspapers. Outside, families toast s’mores around fire pits and play lawn games. Regular updates to the 200-plus-year-old hotel, including a glow-up of all 142 rooms and the addition of a Scandi-chic spa, ensure that loyal East Coasters keep returning for generations."

"1 Michelin Key 2025 | CN Gold List 2025 4* | 130+ years old | 142 rooms, from $400pn Vermont may have a reputation for low-frills, homespun charm, as does the word Woodstock, with its hippie-era associations. But this is an entirely different Woodstock, both literally and figuratively. The Woodstock Inn, in the Vermont town of the same name, was founded by Laurance Rockefeller — in 1969, ironically enough — and though it’s recently undergone a thorough renovation, it’s stayed true to its aristocratic spirit: this is one of the most elegantly luxurious hotels, not only in Vermont, but in the whole of the Northeast. We won’t dwell on the rooms, except to say they’re not just meticulously designed but fantastically luxurious as well — all newly renovated but all absolutely classic in style. There’s simply too much else to talk about; the Red Rooster, one of the region’s most highly regarded restaurants, sources many of its ingredients from the hotel’s own organic garden, while Richardson’s Tavern serves craft brews and spirits in a warm, clubby space. The Inn also boasts a Robert Trent Jones golf course complete with club, pro shop, and the Fairway Grill restaurant and bar. And the Woodstock Foundation also owns the nearby Suicide Six ski resort. The Billings Farm & Museum, a half-mile away, is open for tours, tastings, and daily dairy milkings. Add to that a full-service spa, a tennis club, and facilities for Nordic skiing and falconry — yes, falconry — and you’ve got enough diversion to get you through a year-long stay...."

"If you’ve traveled to Vermont only to leaf-peep or slope-schuss, let this luxury landmark be your gateway to the glories of summer in the Green Mountain State. Still sparkling from $16.5 million worth of enhancements in 2018, the historic 142-room inn and resort is known for pampering guests indoors (the 10,000-square-foot spa is a Forbes Four Star experience) before sending them outdoors to play on an 18-hole championship golf course, area mountain biking trails, tennis courts, and more. Meanwhile, the flavors of summer are delivered right to diners’ plates, courtesy of the inn’s three-acre gardens and executive chef Rhys Lewis; look for his seasonal Red Barn Dinner Series, one of the hottest tickets around for Vermont foodies. woodstockinn.com"
