"Petra is an ancient city which truly can be counted on the list of this world’s wonders, probably Jordan‘s greatest tourist attraction. Petra lies on the side of Mount Horin a large Canyon breaching out from the Dead Sea and all the way south to the Gulf of the Red Sea. Al Khazneh (“The Treasury”) is probably the most famous and elaborate building in Petra, It was built somewhere between the 1st century BC to the 2nd Century AD, it was curved when the City was under a heavy Greek and Egyptian influences and most of the curved details were derived out of those cultures. Petra was forsaken and long forgotten among the desert when in 1812 Western world was introduced with Petra by a Swiss explorer named Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. The name – “Petra” derives from the Greek word “stone” in Arabic there is no equivalent letter or sound to the letter P, so the name Jordanians gave it was – Batra or Al-Batra."

"The mainstream treasury, not the best thing in my opinion because The Monastery on the top of the hill is breathtaking. Don’t waste money at Petra by Night. "

"The Treasury at Petra is known as Al Khazneh and was carved right into the mountain of rose-colored stone. This 1st-century architectural wonder was originally built as a crypt and evokes the Greek architecture of that time period."
