Le décorateur a eu le bon goût de lui redonner son lustre sans tomber dans le pastiche, de laisser aux chambres leur volume d’époque et de restaurer à l’identique l’American Bar, où chanta Judy Garland. Pour plus de modernité, rendez-vous au Kaspar, où les businessmen adorent l’ambiance informelle et le caviar osciètre. EN While the Strand continues its struggle with trendy versus cheesy, the unflappable Savoy reigns supreme. Though it remains the maestro of stylish service, with vintage butlers and thoroughbred concierges, the mastodon of more than a century in age is seeing a renaissance via the pencil of Pierre-Yves Rochon. The decorator had the good taste to return the place to its former glory without succumbing to pastiche, leaving the rooms’ venerable volumes and restoring the American Bar, where Judy Garland sang, unaltered. For a more modern mood, go to Kaspar’s, where executives love the informal atmosphere and Osetra caviar."
