"If we could only eat at one North Shore, Oahu restaurant, it would be Ken’s Fresh Fish. This family-owned, takeout-only joint serves not just delicious food, but amazing, fresh, flavorful seafood in several different offerings. Their poke is possibly the best on the North Shore (yes, better than Foodland and Kahuku Superette), and their ahi katsu is one of our favorite meal from any North Shore restaurant. Pro tip: grab your takeout from Ken’s and drive four minutes up the road to the Laie Beach Park to enjoy your fresh fish with an incredible view."

"Ken’s Fresh Fish is a local’s secret. My brother lives in Laie and introduced us to this gem. My husband claims that it is the best meal he has eaten in Oahu and still dreams about it! You have to order the Ahi Katsu-style fish. They will ask if you want it medium or well, but ask if you can get it medium rare. The thick slice of fresh yellow-fin ahi tuna is breaded, fried, and then drizzled with a special house sauce. It is served on a bed of rice and literally melts in your mouth!"
