"An interesting buddhist temple that transports you into its own realm. Really calming. Quite some walk, but worth it. You also get a nice view at the top!"

"The largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. It’s a couple of miles away from Lower Station and a fascinating place to explore. The entire complex of temples was built over a period from 1890 to 1930. The main draw in the complex is the striking seven-storey Pagoda which structure is known as the pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas with 10,000 alabaster and bronze statues of Buddha, and the 36.5 meter tall bronze statue of Guanyin (Kuan Yin), the Goddess of Mercy. The 10.000 Buddhas concept belongs to the Chinese Mahāyāna school of Buddhism while Rama VI was king over a Theravāda country and Buddhist tradition."

"Kek Lok Si Temple is famed for being one of the largest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia and as such you should make sure not to miss it if you are travelling to Penang. Many Buddhist devotees consider this to be an important pilgrimage site and you can spot the beautiful towering Kek Lok Si Pagoda as well as the statue of Guanyin. The statue is constructed in the shape of the Goddess of Mercy and stands at a height of 36.5 meters and the entire temple complex is built in a range of styles. As such make sure to look out for the Chinese base, Thai style mid-section, and the Burmese inspired top level."

"A R C H I D I S C O V E R📍Penang 🔶 Veronica . . DAY_6: Il tempio della beatitudine suprema il più grande del sud est asiatico. È situato a Air Itam, area le cui colline (dette “He San” o Crane Hill, collina della gru) da sempre sono considerate molto significative dal punto di vista geomantico in quanto posseggono tutti i requisiti ideali per la costruzioni di un tempo secondo l'antica tradizione del “feng shui”. Queste colline sono da sempre estremamente popolari come ritiro di monaci e taoisti in cerca dell'immortalità."
