Lately when I use Google Maps, Tripadvisor or The Fork to try a new place, I end up in 4+ star places with 1,000+ enthusiastic reviews, and than I find myself in well promoted restaurants or bars where only tourists go and who charge too much given the products and/or the location. I travel often to Italy, so I’ll track my trusted Italian places as well. No more disappointing bills for me! And more new cozy shops and restaurants opened by hard working locals who take pride in the thought they put in the products they offer. I’ll scout them the good ol’ way: talking a walk and making a #trynext note.
