"Eater reco - more upscale option for Spanish, been around forever. In the Ironbound neighborhood that has constantly evolved over the past two centuries, Forno’s, open since 1980, is considered a cornerstone of the Iberian dining scene. “Traditional” and “classic” are often used to describe it, and while not hip compared to the area’s new wave of restaurants, it still draws crowds for its dependable and a bit more upscale food and service. Eight different types of paella (seafood lovers should go for the black rice version) and a family-style menu make it perfect for a group outing."

The paella Valenciana, an array of shellfish, chicken, and sausage, is served over saffron-infused rice. While deemed overpriced by some locals, it's a popular choice for many coming into the area looking for an upscale dining experience. Expect a wide selection of wines — including one of the rarest selection of Spanish wines in the US — in a restaurant whose American influences have not affected the authenticity of its Spanish cuisine.
