"Isla Bella Beach Resort & Spa — Florida Keys Beach Resort in Marathon Isla Bella Beach Resort & Spa is a polished oceanfront resort in Marathon, Florida, near the Seven Mile Bridge. It sits in the Middle Keys, which makes it a good base if you want a resort vacation with access to both Key Largo/Islamorada and Key West. The resort says it is roughly 2 hours from Miami and about 1 hour from Key West International Airport. The setting is the main reason to save it: 24 acres, ocean views, palm-lined pools, white resort buildings, and a long stretch of shoreline. The official site describes it as a 24-acre oceanfront destination with ocean views from every room and suite. Why it works This is one of the better “full resort” options in the Florida Keys. It has five pools, multiple dining options, a spa, fitness center, beach areas, and activities like beach yoga, pool lounging, daybeds, and add-on kayak/SUP rentals. The location is also strong for exploring Marathon: Sombrero Beach, the Turtle Hospital, Old Seven Mile Bridge, Pigeon Key, boating, fishing, snorkeling, and diving are all natural add-ons to a stay here. Marathon is less scene-heavy than Key West, so it works better if you want a resort base rather than nightlife every night. Things to know The Florida Keys are not known for wide, soft, walk-for-miles beaches like the Gulf Coast. Isla Bella gives you a beautiful oceanfront resort setting, but the beach experience is more “Keys waterfront resort” than “Maui or Clearwater-style beach.” I would go for the pools, views, water activities, and location—not purely for swimming off the sand. Guest feedback is generally positive about the views, facilities, and photo-worthy property, though reviews also mention mixed experiences, which is common at higher-priced resort properties where expectations are high. My take I’d put Isla Bella in the “best-looking resort base in Marathon” category. It is especially good for a couples trip, Florida Keys road trip, family vacation with resort amenities, or a pre/post Key West stop. Compared with Sandpearl or Four Seasons Fort Lauderdale, Isla Bella feels more tropical and destination-like, but also more isolated and Keys-specific. Mapstr photo idea: use the aerial pool-and-ocean shot with turquoise water and palm trees — that best captures the reason to save it.
