"V&A East Storehouse , the Victoria and Albert Museum’s genre-busting new space in East London, opened in May and continues to develop its one-of-a-kind programming. It’s part museum, part open-view storage facility and part community center, providing “radical access” to the V&A’s impressive collection. The “Order an Object” experience lets visitors pre-order up to five pieces from the museum to view them up-close, one-on-one with a specialist. This month, the V&A East Storehouse also opened the David Bowie Centre, displaying a vast archive of around 90,000 items from the singer’s estate, including sketches, makeup sets, personal notes, photographs and, of course, fabulous costumes."
