Perfekt für Naturliebhaber und Fotografen. The U-shaped canyon sits just right beside Highway 9, just 17 km (10.5 mi) west of Drumheller. Visitors can descend along a gently sloping trail to the canyon floor to get a closer look at the maroon-striped wall that record the passing of time. The rock layers go all the way back to the Cretaceous period some 70 million years ago when dinosaurs roamed a lush tropical landscape. The two arms of the canyon are each about 5 km (3 mi) long and make for an easy day hike. If you’re less adventurous or pressed for time, viewing platforms at the canyon rim deliver awe-inspiring views and great photos."

"Such a fun and beautiful place! Went with every tourist. Like to go with dad so we can run around everywhere. When you can’t run & climb there it gets frustrating. Looking at relief you can imagine that things are huge but you are looking at them from far away. Caused by the glacier on the prairie when it melted"
