"Tea Time at the Fearrington is truly lovely. We went for our wedding anniversary recently and I can't recommend it enough. It is reservation-only, so you do need to call in advance, and it is only offered in the early afternoon Th-Sun. $65/70 per adult, a bit less for children. In fact the Fearrington Village is designed to resemble a quaint countryside village in the UK, so you do feel like you're stepping into a different part of the world when you go there. When you arrive at the restaurant, a waiter in a full tuxedo leads you to your table in a brightly-lit wing of the restaurant where your menu and teacups are waiting. You choose which type of tea you'd like from their selection of Harney & Sons teas, and your waiter will bring you a full tea pot and the accompanying snacks. The food is a fixed menu and you get everything on it unless you had previously requested an alternative due to dietary restrictions. The finger sandwiches, scones, and dainty desserts come all together on a three platter stand. We ended up starting at the bottom with the finger sandwiches. My favorite was the cucumber toast, though the chicken salad was tasty too. Then, the middle section: pimiento cheese on challah, and scones with small pots of orange marmalade, lemon curd, and whippee butter. The lemon curd and marmalade together on the scones ended up being divine. Finally, the top plate contained the sweets: a mini opera cake, a crème de menthe brownie, a cheesecake bite, a fruit tartelette, and an orange mousse. All of them were delectable but I especially liked the fruit tartelette and the rich minty brownie. The service was very nice and the food is much more filling than you would think just from looking at it. I would recommend this experience and look forward to doing another tea time there soon. "
