"Karen went Nov/23 said was very good. Rec from olive magazine Clos Maggiore is a little piece of the Med in Covent Garden. The conservatory, draped with blossoms and fairy lights, has a retractable roof for balmy evenings, while the main building is more cosy Provençal inn. From the French-Italian menu, expect hearty starters such as roasted duck foie gras with crisp confit duck leg and braised shoulder of Loire valley rabbit; mains of slow-cooked Charolais beef cheek and braised halibut fillet with leek fondue. Numerous vegetarian options include a roasted pumpkin, pine nut and parmesan soup and Sicilian aubergine and fig caponata, with Provençal goat’s cheese."

"4/5: tasting menu. Gorgeous, gorgeous restaurant. Definitely on the stuffier end (and not just because the heating was on FULL BLAST). Where you go if you want to impress your date (but with 0 creativity as it’s so popular the wow factor is diminished, in a way). Decent food, nothing to write home about, but great at accommodating dietary restrictions and the decor really does make up for it. Same energy as Rules, but more mainstream/well known."
