Request one of the 13 rooms and suites recently refreshed by French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, and keep in mind that the south-facing suites have views of the Roseg Glacier. In the nearby village of S-chanf, the seven rooms of Villa Flor are ski homes away from home for the painting-and-powder set, including Julian Schnabel, who typically hunkers down here for a month each season."

"Die Alpen beherbergen zahlreiche groĂartige Hotels, die als Ausgangspunkte zum Wintersport dienen. Das Grand Hotel Kronenhof ist das wohl architektonisch bedeutendste Hotel der Alpen. Die 170-jĂ€hrige Geschichte zeigt sich historisch-gediegen in der Fassade und auch in den einzelnen Zimmer des Hotels. Das Haus liegt idyllisch und aktuell etwas eingeschneit im Engadiner Dorf Pontresina in sechs Kilometern Entfernung von St. Moritz. Ich nutze das angebotene Winter-Special, drei NĂ€chte fĂŒr 1830 Euro, und genieĂe ein köstliches Halbpensions-MenĂŒ. Ich wĂ€hle zudem den inkludierten Spa-Wellness-Pass. Nach der tĂ€glichen Massage entspanne ich im insgesamt 2000 Quadratmeter groĂen Spa- und Fitnessbereich. "
