"Calm cove two stops before Big Makena"

"For snorkeling. Between Nahuma point and black sand beach in southern district of makena. Turtle town is specifically Malala beach for best snorkeling. Call blue water, white sand beach. Walk south down the beach to rocks for snorkeling. "

"Looks like a mild wave beach area. 2023- decent walk from parking lot. Notice beach. Lots of walking. Better beaches more north. "

"https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations/1167319/maluaka-beach/ Highlights Good snorkeling and turtles off to the left Good swimming much of the time You’ll be forgiven if you get confused as to where Makena Beach is. So is everyone else. Ask a local for directions, and you could end up in one of four places. Oneloa Beach, also called Big Beach, is often called Makena Beach or sometimes Big Makena Beach. (It’s also called Makena State Park.) Makena Bay, just north of here, which also contains Makena Landing, is sometimes called Makena Beach. Sometimes Po‘olenalena Beach is called Makena Surf Beach. And lastly this beach is sometimes called Makena Beach. It’s usually called Maluaka Beach, as the signs often say. Hey, don’t blame us—we’re just the messengers. For clarification (ha!) we’ll call this beach Maluaka Beach. Fronting the Makena Beach Resort, this wide, pretty beach slopes gently, providing good swimming during calm seas, especially toward the center of the beach where a thick padding of sand awaits. During calm seas keiki (kids) splash about with abandon. There is shade at the south (left) end, as well as restrooms, showers and picnic tables. Parking is past the Makena Beach Resort, where Makena Road backtracks, 3.6 miles south of the Wailea Alanui/Wailea Ike intersection. After parking continue the same direction on the concrete path to the beach. If you want, park a bit closer to the sand, try using Makena Road just south of Honoiki for the north end of the beach. The snorkeling off to the left (south) is very good with good coral and fish, and usually lots of turtles. In fact, this area is one of the famed turtle towns that some snorkel boats take people to see. Off to the right also offers good snorkeling. How Crowded Not usually too crowded (on weekdays) How's the access Pretty easy access with short walk Parking Plentiful"

"Aussi appelée Turtle Town cette plage de sable doré est propice aux rencontres marines. Comme elle est isolée des chaînes de complexes hôteliers, vous y trouverez de la place et de la tranquillité."
