Café Belcampo

"Belcampo – Libary and cafe in one Aug 11th, 2016 | By: Shawn Ruth van Heuckelum In Amsterdam-west at the Bellamyplein 51, you will find one of Amsterdam’s newest hotspot: “De Hallen”, this is an old tram shed where you can find an indoor food market, cinema, hairdresser, apartments, restaurants and you have Belcampo… Belcampo is named after a famous writer, who used to live in Amsterdam-West. Belcampo is a libary café where the public library of Amsterdam is established. Therefore a range of audiences visits Belcampo; parents with children, students and business people… So feel free to feel at home. What I like the most about this place is that you can work downstairs or at the mezzanine, or maybe take a seat along the window. They have a wall full of books, new and old-school magazines for everyone. Sometimes I just get lost in their selection of books and magazines and before you know it’s time to go. The staff is super friendly and always smiling! Good to know; they have special days like ‘French Toast Sunday’. And try one of the flavours of ‘Bos’ Ice tea (my favourite South African brand!)."
