"A meat lover’s paradise! Fantastic venue where to enjoy top quality and fresh Italian meat, centrally located in South Kensington. The dining experience was extremely enjoyable, the menu is very intriguing with the format of a newspaper guiding its customers through the variety of meat dishes offered. The restaurant also has a beautiful and rustic decor, very informal resembling a real butcher shop- with the dry aging cabinet at the entrance, wooden tables and chairs and small details such as bent spoons nailed to the wall as coat hangers. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, excellent service. Highly recommend for meat lovers. The menu offers such a great selection of meat dishes that it is difficult to choose from. We opted for a sublime beef carpaccio and fresh prosciutto cotto board served with delicious gorgonzola. We then opted for the superb “Costata”, perfect for sharing, and when receiving your meat they jab the stake knife into the table. Also, we adventurously tried the heart, highly recommended by one of the kind waitresses and kindly offered by the house.It was surprisingly delicious!! Perfectly cooked, served sliced with a superb garlic and aromatic herbs sauce. A great suggestion, and absolutely a must try!! Lastly, fairly priced considering the high quality of the meat. Surely Macellaio offers the finest meat you will find, a real meat heaven!"
