"Clean campground ($42). Great showers. Steep walk down to beach. Raging ocean waves. Beautiful to watch. "

"California, Hawaii, Florida, and the Carolinas may all stake their claims for having the best beaches in the United States, but the Pacific Northwest offers rugged seaside beauty that's truly in a league of its own. Harris Beach State Park on Oregon's south coast is a prime example, with miles of pristine sand, enchanting rock formations, and diverse marine life everywhere you look. This hidden paradise is definitely on par with Oregon's other hidden secrets that transform throughout the year, each season offering something completely unique. The park is open for day visits and overnight camping all year long, so you can storm-watch in the winter, whale-watch in the spring, and beach-hop in the summer.  Read More: https://www.islands.com/1651399/america-best-harris-beach-pacific-northwest-coast-oregon-paradise-rugged-beauty/"

"With craggy monoliths that poke out of crystal waters and soft sands, Harris Beach in Brookings tends to evoke Northern California more than the classic Oregon coast. That's because it's only six miles from the border. You made it! This is a beach of intimate, quiet chill, one that gets a bonus soundtrack courtesy of Bird Island, which sits just offshore and serves as a 20+ acre aviary sanctuary. This is the end of the line for Oregon's beaches, but it's a stunner, particularly if you get frisky and start making your way back north along the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, where more mythical sights like Arch Rock and Natural Bridges hide among less-sandy shores and hidden alcoves waiting to be discovered."

"Really nice state park near Brookings. You can walk to a couple beaches from the park and they had a few lookout points where you can watch the amazing sunsets. $42 a night for hookups. Recommend this spot for a lot of great hikes around brookings. Good att service. "
