At Cloudstreet – named after Naleendra’s favourite novel – adventurous tasting menus are grounded in European techniques filtered through a Sri Lankan lens, reflecting Naleendra’s heritage. Creative combinations see oysters paired with coconut milk and marron (native Australian crayfish) alongside spiced Sri Lankan millet; the results earned it a place on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2021. Vinodhan Veloo (previously of Singaporean legend, Odette) oversees a 400-strong wine list that’s structured like a magazine and includes some riveting non-alcoholic options. Pours such as sparkling yoghurt whey with fermented jackfruit and cardamom water hint at this restaurant’s dedication to carving out new culinary ground."

"Had a reservation during 8/22 trip that I had to cancel as I was too busy. Finally had dinner 2/23. Amazing experience. 8-course tasting menu ($378++). You have the savory dishes downstairs (I sat at bar in front of open kitchen) and you are then whisked away upstairs for dessert. Extremely friendly staff including chef Rishi and his Australian wife Manuela (from Melbourne). 2 Michelin starts 2023-2025; #44 Top 50 Restaurants Asia 2022, #82 2024 & #74 2025; Signature restaurant from Sri Lankan born and Australia trained chef-owner Rishi Naleendra (and pastry chef Maira Yeo who joined in 2020 and was voted Asia’s Best Pastry Chef in 2022 - not sure she is still there).
