"Simonopetra Monastery (Greek for ‘Simon’s Rock’), is an Eastern Orthodox monastery located in north-eastern Greece (near mt. Athos on the Athos peninsula). Simonopetra Monastery is built on top of a giant rock about 330 meters above the sea. The monastery was first bulit in the 13th century, ever since it was was burned down to the ground several times, and nearly abounded, the structure standing there today was rebuilt in the end of the 19th century, and it is still pretty spectacular to this day."
