"As I stepped onto the soft sand of Crystal Bay, I felt an immediate sense of relief wash over me. This was the first beach we had come across on the island of Nusa Penida where we could actually lay down our towels and relax without having to navigate a treacherous staircase. As I made my way towards the water's edge, I was followed by an Asian man of similar age who seemed very friendly. At first, I appreciated his company, but his overly friendly behavior made me wonder if he was trying to hit on me or distract me while a friend stole my belongings on the beach. As we swam together, the man kept making gestures by pounding his hand into his fist, saying "cheeky, cheeky" and raising his eyebrows. I began to feel uneasy, especially when he asked if I was alone. I quickly responded that I was with my girlfriend and made my way out of the water, leaving him to swim alone. While I was disappointed that my swim had been interrupted by someone who made me feel uncomfortable, I was grateful for the chance to experience the stunning natural beauty of Crystal Bay in peace."
