"The Norton Museum of Art is West Palm Beach’s cultural anchor—beautifully reimagined by Foster + Partners, whose 2019 expansion introduced light-filled galleries, a state-of-the-art auditorium, expanded education spaces, a sculpture garden, and a welcoming Great Hall at the center of it all. Restored 1920s cottages on the campus now support the museum’s artist-in-residence program, underscoring its deep connection to the community. The permanent collection spans European, American, Chinese, Contemporary, and Photography, enriched over decades by significant acquisitions—among them landmark works by Stuart Davis and Jackson Pollock—and thoughtfully expanded through additions like the Erni Collection. This season, the Norton presents a rare Rembrandt-focused exhibition featuring masterworks of the Dutch Golden Age, including the only Vermeer still in private hands. It’s a museum-world event and a defining moment for South Florida’s cultural landscape."
