"this is THE park. it is perfect. everything a child would want. saw baby ducks and baby geese, got an amazing scented candle at the shop. it is beautiful. it literally feels sacred. "

"Michael Beattie I grew up with this park. It is so big that it is kind of like many small distinct parks combined: people get married in the Rose Garden, ice skate on the pond (winter) or feed the ducks & fish (non-winter), mariachi bands have been known to play on the small stage. My fourth grade school year ended with a class party here, and I got an RBI base hit to score my teacher from 2nd base - the highlight of my athletic life :) There is an inconspicuous sidepath off of Prospect Street where if you time it right, you can see hundreds and hundreds of tiny newly-spawned frogs each Spring, hopping about at night."
