Chimney Rock State Park

"This is a scenic western North Carolina road trip from Chimney Rock / Lake Lure up through the Blue Ridge Mountains toward Hot Springs, northwest of Asheville. The route appears to highlight several mountain-drive stops: Chimney Rock / Lake Lure A dramatic mountain-and-lake area known for the cliffside Chimney Rock viewpoint, winding roads, and classic Blue Ridge scenery. Little Switzerland / Spruce Pine area A high-elevation mountain village area with curvy roads, overlooks, and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway region. Asheville / Weaverville / Marshall A good midpoint area with food, breweries, arts, and mountain-town stops. Marshall sits along the French Broad River. Hot Springs, North Carolina A small Appalachian Trail town known for natural hot springs, river scenery, and a relaxed mountain vibe. Overall feel: This looks like a 1–2 day scenic mountain loop, best for overlooks, curvy-road driving, small towns, river views, and a mix of Blue Ridge Parkway-style scenery without needing heavy hiking. It would be especially good in fall foliage season, but spring and early summer would also be beautiful."
