La clientèle est, par contraste, d’une opulence décontractée, et il est de bon ton de ne pas scanner ostensiblement le Who’s Who de la branchitude londonienne dans l’espoir d’apercevoir Kate Moss. La récompense pour avoir obtenu une réservation de haute lutte et passé le barrage, souriant mais implacable, des physionomistes (overdressed s’abstenir) sera de déguster, dans une salle très Nouvelle-Angleterre, les grands classiques revisités par le chef étoilé Nuno Mendes. EN We don’t even want to imagine the casting call for the staff here… The waitresses – a gorgeous redhead, a black beauty and a Marilyn lookalike – glide around in the silk crepe pantsuits. On the other hand, the clientele ooze a relaxed opulence, making it clear it would be a total faux-pas to ostensibly stare at the Who’s Who of the London scene in the hope of seeing Kate Moss. Your reward for having secured a hard-to-get reservation, getting through the crowd and the smiling but ruthless doorman (the overdressed should stay away) will be to savour, in a New England-style room, the great classics revisited by the Michelin-starred chef Nuno Mendes."
