However, the number of public bathhouses in Japan has fallen drastically from 18,000 in 1968 to only 2,000 today. Take us into the room. How was the set-up? The session itself? A crowdfunded renovation has transformed the space into a contemporary sento with four pools, a sauna, and an outdoor bath. On the second floor, there are wooden-walled treatment rooms where you can book facials, massages, and invigorating akasuri (body exfoliation treatments). What about after the treatment?
