"Yes — you mean The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas, on Paradise Island just outside Nassau. This is a different category from most Caribbean resorts: small, extremely upscale, quiet, and very service-oriented. It has been operating since 1962 and sits on 35 landscaped acres along a long white-sand beach. Compared with the Kimpton Seafire you just asked about, I’d describe Ocean Club this way: Seafire is modern luxury; Ocean Club is old-school Caribbean luxury. Ocean Club has low-rise buildings, manicured Versailles-style gardens, a much more private atmosphere, three pools, spa facilities, golf access, and DUNE by Jean-Georges. Recent guests continue to rate the beach, grounds, rooms and especially the service very highly. One thing that makes it unusual is how uncrowded it can feel. The property has only about 100 rooms spread across the large grounds, rather than the high-density layout you get at Atlantis or many large Caribbean resorts. Vogue specifically highlighted the amount of space and suitability for multigenerational family trips. My ratings: Category Ocean Club Beach 9.5/10 Luxury 10/10 Service 10/10 Pool 9/10 Food 9/10 Quiet / relaxation 10/10 Families 8.5/10 Activities 8/10 Value 6.5/10 Overall 9.4/10 The big issue is cost. This is one of the expensive resorts in the Bahamas, and it isn’t all-inclusive. Current listings can easily start well above $1,000 a night, with premium ocean-view rooms and suites considerably higher. Meals, drinks, taxes and resort expenses can push a week substantially beyond the room rate. For the family vacation options you’ve been looking at, however, I would put Ocean Club above Seafire if budget isn’t the deciding factor. Ocean Club has the more memorable beach-resort atmosphere and feels more special. Seafire probably wins on contemporary design and may offer somewhat better value. If I were ranking the upscale Caribbean properties we’ve discussed so far, I’d currently have 1. Ocean Club Four Seasons, 2. Kimpton Seafire, with a fairly small gap between them."

"Dessiné par Joe Lee, le parcours est un 18 trous par 72. Il se déploie dans un cadre exceptionnel entre palmiers et mer, sur un terrain luxuriant et arboré en bordure de la mer qui le cerne sur trois côtés. Il a été revu récemment par Tom Weiskopf, ancien champion qui a déjà créé plus de 30 terrains de golf à travers le monde. Il est couvert de deux sortes d'herbes dont une particulière pour les fairways, la Paspalum , qui s'arrose à l'eau de mer. Ce parcours impeccable abrite des espèces d'oiseaux migrateurs, les vents rendent parfois difficiles les trajectoires."
