Good Good Culture Club : rooftop fusion asiatique à San Francisco

"Bib Gourmand 2025 Stroll into this lush, happening spot and your eyes will quickly fall on neon blue letters scrawled above the lively open kitchen: "did you eat yet?" The correct answer is "no": an empty stomach will be amply rewarded by the vibrantly flavorful cooking here. Southeast Asian flavors find unique Californian expressions in dishes like a signature adobo-glazed fried chicken wing stuffed with garlic rice, or a Lao-style sausage with tangy pasilla pepper jaew. A version of halo halo, featuring mango jellies, shiso shaved ice and seasonal fruit, is a particular treat. Reservations go quickly, but if you walk in early (or late), you may find a perch to dine at the bar, where you'll also find an array of creative, tropically inflected cocktails—a match made in paradise."

"Sister restaurant of lilolilo yacht club which occupies the same space in the mission. I really enjoyed the operational aspects of the restaurant, perhaps as much as the food. Since you pay on your phone using the QR code, it allows you to really pace the dinner. Also I was really impressed with the clientele. Everyone around us was smiling, laughing, and enjoying their evening. All groups were under the age of 35 and it really felt in that moment like San Francisco was back from doldrums of Covid. We ordered a few small plates, chatted for a bit, and then ordered some more. You really can take the time to savor each dish and there is no feeling of rush. Impeccable! Highlights included the hodo yuba, an incredible salad of bean sprouts and shallots and the good good chicken wing which is a large wing stuffed to the brim with rice and garlic. Insane. Definitely a must try, and not crazy expensive either. Also inventive cocktails so go when you know you don’t have work the next day. 8.65/10"
