"Kristy Socarras Bigelow, who opened Cuba Cuba in the heart of the Golden Triangle in 2001, is a poster child for the American Dream. A Cuban-American from Miami whose family didn’t allow her to go to college and who had little restaurant experience, she decided to create a Cuban-influenced eatery in two little conjoined Victorian houses. Socarras Bigelow has since opened several fast-casual spinoffs, but the original still charms with its tiny but friendly bar that specializes in mojitos and a fabulous shaded patio. ($$$)"

"8.4/10 lecton (pork) entree was very good, juicy pork and very tasty rice. I liked the yucca. Chimichurri steak was good but Noah felt sauce has an off flavor. Steak was good and garlic mojo fries were SO YUMMY. Slaw on the side was good but abnormally large. Side beans were standard good beans. tres leches, good, small for the price tho. Not sure I like that style of cake but flavor is good Second time tostones nachos were very good, bread was nice and buttery, yummy, and Noah got other steak dish which was surprisingly pulled but he really liked it"

"One of my top favorites in Denver!! So many good menu items, can’t go wrong with the Cuban sandwich. Plantain chips and salsas are a must. Gave me a shugas vibe with much better service "
