"One of the top tourist attractions in the Philippines, The Chocolate Hills are unusual geological formations that consists of at least 1,268 individual mounds scattered throughout the interior of the island of Bohol. The almost symmetrical and same-sized formations range from 98 to 164 feet (30 to 50 meters) high and are covered in green grass. During the dry season the grass turns brow, hence the name. There is no consensus on how these giant mole hills were formed. One theory holds that the Chocolate Hills are the weathered rock formations of a kind of marine limestone on top of an impermeable layer of clay."

"Insane sightseeing, worth visiting at sunset. Brown-greenish coral-nature hills (30/100m height) will be in front of you because of a weird geological phenomenon. From the highest one (214 steps) you see hundreds of them. 100pp entrance fee, you need to buy the ticket before going to the viewing deck. You can go there with a motorbike and then you only have to climb around 200 steps, it takes 5 minutes to reach the upper deck."

"L'une des attractions touristiques les plus mises en avant aux Philippines. Ce sont en réalité 1 268 collines de 60 à 120 m de hauteur dont la végétation subissant la sécheresse des mois de décembre à avril donne une teinte chocolat à ces curiosités géologiques, d'où leur nom. Une légende voudrait que ces collines soient les larmes tombées des yeux d'un géant. Il faut donc grimper les 214 marches pour atteindre le point de vue panoramique à 360 degrés afin d'embrasser des centaines de ces petites collines. La vue est bien plus impressionnante évidemment par beau temps. A noter : le tour est vite fait quand même. Combinez donc la visite avec celle des tarsiers et de la Loboc River. Suivre la route en direction de Carmen pour rejoindre les Chocolate Hills. Le voyage pour y arriver, à travers des étendues de rizière, est très pittoresque."
