"The food was incredible—no wonder this place has such a great reputation. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous complimentary offerings: bruschetta, house bread with dip, and even hot chocolate sauce with biscotti at the end. We ordered the Caesar salad, pasta sampler, pollo della casa, and a seasonal salmon dish. For dessert, we had a seasonal special: fresh peaches with gelato, topped with lemon, honey, and sea salt. It was definitely the star of the show. The service wonderful. Sergio was warm and attentive. My only complaint is that the tables were very close together, which made it hard to have a private conversation. It was easy to hear our neighboring tables conversations which we didn’t love. Loved the food! We will be back."

"I haven’t been here since Valter’s death, but it WAS a phenomenal Italian spot in downtown SL. Would recommend it to anyone."

"Italian - Female Foodie said best restaurant in SLC"

"If you’re going to splurge on one restaurant this year in Salt Lake City, make it a night at Valter’s Osteria for the best high end dining in town and the best of the best restaurants in Salt Lake City. Owner and founder Valter Nassi has created an authentic Tuscan experience that will quite literally transport you to his mother’s kitchen in Italy. Menu offerings may change and specials are not to be overlooked, but favorite mainstays include the chopped agnelli salad, tutta pasta di valter (pasta sampler, pictured), lasagna made with Valter’s mother’s meat sauce, butternut squash and sage ravioli, “pizza” carne, or chicken piccata. The lemon gelato served with local honey and salt is a must!"
