"This Brecon stalwart is famous for its barnstormer of a Sunday lunch with unusual variations including confit duck leg or maple-glazed celeriac, served alongside homegrown veg from Alfie Dan’s Market Garden (two courses £32; felinfachgriffin.co.uk). Despite the high-quality produce, the pub feels refreshingly unpretentious, with deep, lived-in leather sofas to lounge in, old books to browse and a pretty garden for when the sun shines. Rooms continue the homely vibe with checked bedspreads, mismatched furniture and stonking views of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) peaks. The Sunday sleepover deal (from £240) is great value, including lunch, supper and a filling breakfast on Monday morning."
