"Bib Gourmand 2026 (new) One of two new Bib Gourmands in Peckham, both offering Southeast Asian cuisine, Lai Rai takes you on a trip to Vietnam with its invigorating dishes that draw plenty of flavour from both the well-judged spicing and the natural flavours of the ingredients. Donât miss out on the prawn lollies, which are so moreish youâll quickly be ordering a second round."

"from ig chef: l joelhart I wish @lairai.london had existed when I lived in Peckham. Itâs an exciting addition to the Vietnamese food offering in London. Bold and punchy flavours are tempered by layered aromatics, the tequila & mango cocktails are dangerously good, and thereâs dishes and textures that feel refreshingly novel. But mostly, itâs food thatâs just really fun to eat! I liked it all, but I especially loved the bĂĄnh trĂĄng trá»n â a multi-textured salad of rice paper, beef jerkey, quail eggs and green mango â and the vem cá»t dừa â a bowl of plump mussels, all cooked to perfection (really, no duds) with a coconut broth lifted by lemongrass and Viet hot mint. "Lai Rai (meaning âlittle by littleâ) has brought the Vietnamese culture of bia hÆĄi â meeting for snacks and cold beers â to Rye Lane, with a menu of banh mi and Vietnamese coffee by day and Vietnamese dishes and drinks by night. Blair Nguyen, co-founder of Vinaxoa (a collective that combines food and raving), has designed the menu, taking inspo from her upbringing in Saigon, dessert runs with her dad and snacks sheâd eat after school and after nights out. You can expect dishes like fried prawn and young green rice on sugarcane stalks with peanut and nưá»c cháș„m satay sauce; papaya jellyfish salad with pineapple, charred tomatoes, herbs and peanuts; fermented tofu dip with turmeric oil and sesame crackers; grilled betel leaf beef with coffee barbecue jus; twice-cooked crispy chicken with fresh herb sauce; mung bean coconut sticky rice; Running Chic â a baguette stuffed with caramel shredded chicken, crispy onions, chicken pĂątĂ©, house carrot pickle, cucumber, spring onion and rau ram; and Ryelane Delight â a baguette with vegan cold-cuts, sautĂ©ed mushroom, whipped tofu pĂątĂ© and miso kho quáșčt."
