"KOSTER ISLANDS When you've seen everything in Strömstad, why not take a boat trip from the town's north harbour to the beautiful mini-archipelago called the Koster Islands, a group of forested outcrops that constitute Sweden's most westerly isles. Tiny North Koster is hilly and has good beaches. Larger South Koster is flatter and better for cycling - you can rent a bike here - and hiking trails riddle the island. The islandscape south of the two main isles just begs to be explored by sea kayak. There are several restaurants and two large beaches at Rörvik and Kilesand. Trips are booked through the tourist office and boats run every 30 minutes throughout summer, less frequently at other times of the year."
