"Empfehlung E&T08/2025, sensationeller Meerblick, „Sustainable Cornish luxury" nennen sie das, was im „Ugly Butterfly" auf den Tisch kommt - ebenso umweltfreundliches wie hochkarätiges, dabei entspanntes Fine Dining. Auch die Gäste des Afternoon Tea können so lange im Restaurant bleiben, wie sie wollen, dürfen sogar ihren Hund mitbringen. Angebot, darunter das eigene Label: Polgoon Sparkling aus Penzance. Der spektakuläre mehrgängige Afternoon Tea ist ein Schnäppchen für 45 Pfund (gut 50 Euro); in den großen Londoner Hotels zahlt man inzwischen oft doppelt so viel. Es ist auch ein Angebot an die Einheimischen, die sich vielleicht das großartige große Menü für 135€"

"This is Adam Handling's restaurant in St Ives, part of the Carbis Bay resort. If you're thinking that rings a bell - yes, this is the place that held the G7 summit back in 2021. Here the chef uses local Cornish ingredients and there's a big focus on low waste. There's also a bar here which makes use of the trims and offcuts from the main menu in cocktails and bar snacks. On a trip to St Ives, we felt we had to make a booking and take a look at this much-raved-about restaurant. (Hot dinners best outside London runner up 2024)"
