"For some proper good Thai grub, head to Som Saa for old-style cuisine and ice-cold cocktails. The red curry fish cakes served with an ajaad relish and the braised beef shin massaman curry covered in roasted shallots are both real highlights, and a reason we added them to this ‘best restaurants in Shoreditch’ guide."

"I’m a huge fan of Southeast Asian cuisine, I’ve traveled vastly on the region and sometimes it can be hard to find something truly authentic in western countries, but Som Saa can put to bed all your fears surrounding Thai cuisine because it’s exactly what it should: Authentic, traditional, modern, full of umami, well located and with a 10/10 ambiance. Dishes are simple but ingredients are perfect. Service is efficient and the presentation is super hygge (which I love), and food, even though is a restaurant, feels and tastes truly homemade. You’ll see pictured: 1) Nahm dtok plaa thort (Isaan style deep fried sea bass)🔥 2) Mu yaang (coconut smoked pork shoulder with chilli and garlic dressing)🔥 3) Laab het (spicy salad of mixed mushrooms) 4) Gaeng som pla (sour curry of monkfish, lotus shoots and thai omelette) 5) Fai daeng (stir fry of seasonal greens kajorn flowers, mushrooms and fermented yellow beans) 6) Mu parlow (five spices soy braised pork with fermented chilli sauce and a soy cured egg)🔥"
