"Monocle: Restaurant in an 88-year-old art deco building that housed the United States Information Service until the 1970s. Peninsula House was founded by the owners of Norm Micro Roastery nextdoor, who wanted to create something special in the vacant site. With the help of Kuala Lumpur-based studio Wunderwall Design, they have filled the softly lit interiors with vintage finds. The kitchen is helmed by chef Ahmad Suffian Salim, who has created an Australian-style menu of contemporary dishes such as duck cannelloni, roasted chicken with garlic thyme and black cod with fish consommé. Come for the building with a storied past, stay for the modern fare in a setting that charms with its simplicity."
