"Red sand beach. High waves"

"https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations/5223577/koki-beach-park/ Highlights Good for beach combing Often too hazardous for swimming Popular spot for residents on weekends This beach is a mixture of black sand (from the nearby crumbling hill) along with white sand from pulverized coral. It’s a good place to sit and observe the ocean under the nearby trees with a dramatic view of the red hill behind you, a sea arch off to the left and the coconut tree-topped ‘Alau Island off to the right. Swimming is unprotected and can be hazardous, except when calm. Boogie boarding can be good here. The shape and direction the beach faces make it a good place for beachcombing. Fishing nets, Japanese net glass floats and other flotsam often wash ashore. Local residents have made strong efforts to keep down the litter that once plagued Koki. Be careful not to leave anything valuable in your car here or at Hamoa as we’ve seen the beach cased many times by young thieves looking for an opportunity. ‘Alau Island offshore of Koki Beach. The large hill next to the beach is called Ka Iwi o Pele, said to contain the bones of the volcano goddess Pele, left behind after she had a battle with her sister. The hill and adjacent land is currently owned by Oprah Winfrey. There's a second Koki Beach around the corner (to the left), but unless you're a friend of Oprah's, you gotta do a sketchy swim to get to it. How Crowded Not usually too crowded (on weekdays) How's the access Pretty easy access with short walk Parking Not easy to come by"
