Morans Falls

"2.5mi Length 498ft Elevation gain 1–1.5hr Estimated time Out & back This is an excellent track near the Gold Coast in the mid-section of Lamington National Park. This walk is on the easier side of moderate and great for the whole family. To reach the Morans Falls overlook, go from the Python Rock and Morans Falls trailhead through subtropical rainforest home to booyongs, figs, brush box, twisted vines, and bird's nest ferns. Enjoy breathtaking views of Morans Falls as it plunges 80 metres into the canyon of Morans Creek. The sound of Morans Falls varies from a rumbling roar following a downpour to a soft trickle during the dryer months. The water is slowly carving the rock underneath the falls, resulting in rockfalls and changing the cliff face. Take in the expansive views of the Albert River valley and Mounts Lindsey and Barney in the distance by continuing on the path that crosses a clear creek to the viewpoint point of Morans Clearing. The track can get quite busy on weekends, so arrive early! The area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Gondwana Rainforests in the South East region of Queensland, Australia. There are great facilities at the trailhead at Green Mountains day-use area. There are flushing toilets, electric/fuel barbecues (free of charge), and shaded picnic tables."
