"Hike the 630 miles of the South West Coast Path SOUTHWEST ENGLAND // Britain might be a tiddler compared to many of its European neighbours in terms of square acreage, but it’s a different matter when it comes to coastline. At some 7723 miles, it has one of the longest coastlines of any European nation. Roughly a tenth of that encircles the southwest peninsula, home to the South West Coast Path. Running for 630 miles from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset, the trail tracks the full diversity of coastal landscape: rock towers, white beaches, hidden coves, pebble banks, coastal lagoons, sheer cliffs, wildflower-speckled headlands. It can be done in sections, or as one epic multi-week adventure, breaking the journey at campsites, pubs or B&Bs. By the end, you’ll be footsore and knackered, but you’ll see corners of the UK most ordinary folk may never reach.
