"Das Informationszentrum am Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump liegt auf einem Präriehügel und überblickt die Stelle, an der die Hauptnahrungsquelle und Lebensart an den Rand gedrängt wurde und in den Tod fiel. Der Untergang des Bisons sorgte für Nahrung und trug zu allen Facetten der Lebensweise der Plains-Bevölkerung bei. Mit Bisons kleideten sie sich, ernährten sich in harten Wintern und boten Schutz vor den rauen Elementen der Prärie."

"This UNESCO World heritage site is one of the oldest and best preserved buffalo jumps in the world. Very long time ago the Blackfoot people would kill Buffalo by driving them off the 36 foot high or 11 m high cliffs. According 21 legend, the name of the site comes from a story of a young Blackfoot who wanted to watch as the Buffalo tumbled passed. He chose the wrong place to watch and was buried underneath the following Buffalo and was found with his head smashed it."
