"Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre VISITOR CENTRE (www.pitlochrydam.com: Armoury Rd: 10am 4.30pm; [P) FREE Opened in 2017, this archi tecturally stunning visitor centre is perched above the dam on the River Tummel, and houses an exhibition (closed in 2020) that details the history of hydroelectricity in Scotland, alongside the life cycle of Atlantic salmon (all hydro stations need a fish ladder to allow salmon to migrate upstream past the dams). The centre's excellent Salmon Leap Cafe serves sandwiches, pizzas and cakes (mains £6 to £9), with tables overlooking the river source Lonely Planet"
