"Mzansi Restaurant is a family-run township restaurant on historic Harlem Avenue in Langa, Cape Town's oldest township, about 15 km from the city centre. It was opened in 2008 by local couple Nomonde and Vukile Siyaka, born from Nomonde's late mother's vision, and operates out of the front of a home as much a cultural hub as an eatery. The setting is warm and personal, decorated with local artwork, with Mama welcoming guests and explaining the dishes, and a live Marimba band playing traditional African music throughout the meal. It is known for a buffet-style spread of traditional Xhosa and South African home cooking prepared by local "Mamas," typically around a dozen hot and cold dishes with a couple of meat options and plenty that is vegetarian-friendly, plus cultural touches like storytelling, dancing, and local crafts for sale."
