It is especially known for the evening “pink moment,” when sunset light hits the mountains. Why go Ojai is a great 2-night couples getaway or quiet stop on a Southern California trip. It is not really a beach town and not a nightlife destination. The appeal is slowing down: mornings with coffee and shops, afternoon spa or easy hiking, dinner, and sunset views. Best things to do Start in downtown Ojai for boutiques, galleries, cafes, and the classic small-town arcade feel. Visit Bart’s Books, often described as a must-stop outdoor bookstore, then build in time for wine tasting, local olive oil, or a casual brewery stop. For scenery, plan a sunset at Meditation Mount or another viewpoint facing the Topatopa Mountains. Ojai’s visitor bureau highlights hiking and biking as core activities, with trails ranging from easy to more challenging.
